Jay Z joined and then quit Instagram after posting a picture in tribute to Michael Jackson.
While his wife Beyoncé is one of the most followed celebrities on Instagram, rapper and hip hop mogul Jay Z is not really fond of social networks. But this weekend he surprised everybody when he joined Instagram for the very first time.
Opting for the handle @hovsince96 , in reference to the release date of his first album and the creation of Roc-A-Fella Records that both happen in 1996, Jay Z posted a picture of his encounter with music legend Michael Jackson in 2001.
The picture shows a young Jay Z posing and shaking hands with the late singer who would have turned 57 on Aug. 29th. He added the caption : “Happy Birthday to the King! This may be my first and last post”.
And indeed it was his last post as the rapper deleted his account only 14 hours after posting the picture. Too bad !
