Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Ooni of Ife dies at 85



The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade has been reported dead at the age of 85. The paramount ruler of Ife,
one of the biggest towns in Osun State also widely regarded as the cradle of the Yoruba race, reportedly died on the night of Tuesday, July 27, 2015, according to Punch. Oba Sijuwade, the 50th traditional ruler of Ife who ascended the throne in 1980, is said to have died around 5pm on Tuesday in a London hospital. A first class traditional, he was one of the most respected and influential monarchs in the country...
